Anti-Inflammatory Candied Spiced Nuts
Candied nuts are a fave for us. We like having them in the pantry all throughout the year, but they make for a fantastic snack during cocktail hour at holiday events or something to serve on charcuterie boards, or as a garnish on salads!
This recipe features our Fiesta culinary seasoning, showcasing fun and tasty ways you can use this seasoning in more than just tacos!
The anti-inflammatory properties in these nuts come from the omega 3 fatty acids in the walnuts and chia seeds. A diet high in omega 3's is important to support joint health and our nervous system. They are such a tasty and healthy treat, making this recipe an absolute must try!
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
3 tsp Fiesta culinary seasoning
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup raw pecans (halves, pieces or whole)
- 1 cup raw walnuts (halves, pieces or whole)
- 2 tsp chia seeds
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, the taco seasoning and cinnamon and stir together. Add the nuts and chia seeds and stir to coat all the nuts and seeds well.
Spread the nuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent burning.
Remove from oven and let cool completely. Nibble on these candied nuts as a snack, or as a garnish on salads! Store nuts at room temperature in an air tight container.
